Wellgate Community Farm

On a crisp November day, Tina Chesher, Production Assistant at Euromonitor International for the past 25 years, pulled on her wellies and spent two days volunteering at Wellgate Community Farm. Initially a piece of waste ground, volunteers set up Wellgate to promote sustainable development, conservation and other environmental issues.

Located in an urban area, Wellgate provides the community with access to green space, aids community cohesion by bringing people of different ages and cultures together and provides training places for people with learning disabilities.

Tina said of the opportunity, "When you see how hard the young volunteers work and also the carers of the farm, it opens your eyes! It's a lovely feeling trying to put something back into the community".
