  • Gastronomía y Negocios is the leading company in chained fast food, with a value share of 21% in 2012. The company developed rapidly through outlet expansion and a pricing strategy with its leading brand Doggis. Although Gastronomía y Negocios was the leading player in fast food, in terms of brands, the leader is McDonald’s, with a value share of 10%. Over the review period, Gastronomía y Negocios nearly duplicated its outlets in Chile, whilst McDonald’s focused on enhancing its offering in terms of quality and variety, with premium burgers and diversifying through salads and wraps.

  • During the forecast period, workers and executives will continue choosing fast food at lunchtime based on three main variables; affordability, location and fast services.
