Global Packaged Food: Is Impulse and Indulgence Food Still Recession-Proof?

Jun 2009

Price: US$2,000

About this Report

About this Report

With continued uncertainty in the global economy, will consumers stop indulging in confectionery, ice cream, biscuits, cakes, pastries, snacks and snack bars? The answer appears to be no, though consumers in some countries will curtail intake. Euromonitor International still expects global impulse and indulgence food retail volume to grow 2% in 2009 and 2-3% in 2010. While this represents a slowdown from the global retail volume gains predicted before, wholesale consumer flight is unlikely.
