Companies in many of the soft drinks categories have made sustainability a priority and have been innovating or adopting more eco-friendly pack types. In 2022, Pepsi shifted to 100% rPET bottles in Poland for its brands like 7-Up, Mountain Dew or Lipton Ice Tea.
In early 2021, Poland introduced a sugar tax targeting soft drinks, which was aimed at limiting the consumption of sweetened beverages among Poles. However, a year later, in 2022, the sugar tax did not seem to be resulting in a reduction in the intake of sugar, instead only increasing the price of these products.
