  • Spreads is very fragmented due to the high presence of regional brands. However, Kiviks Markmav Indústria Alimentícia Ltda will remain the main player in 2014 with a 10% value share thanks to its leading position in jams and preserves and fourth place in honey. Diversification is key for the company which constantly launches versions with exotic flavours such as Blueberry, Blackcurrant and Mulberry, gourmet versions such as Red and Green Pepper, Ginger and Lemon and Mango chutney, limited editions such as Cranberry and Strawberry as well as health and wellness versions composed of 100% fruit pulp and organic varieties.

  • Spreads is expected to increase by a low 2% retail volume CAGR over the forecast period, very much in line with the review period, and by a 4% value CAGR (constant 2014 prices) due to Brazilian consumers’ preferences for other types of spreadable products, such as processed cheese or spreadable oils and fats.
