  • In 2015 Unipharm was the leader in vitamins and dietary supplements with a 7% value share. The company owes its success to the wide range of vitamin and mineral complexes under the umbrella brand name Vitrum. The other brand of the company that is popular with consumers is Arthron Complex, which is designed to provide joint support. Amway Ukraine held second place in value terms in vitamins and dietary supplements in 2015. One of the factors that contributed to the company’s growing sales was the increased number of sales representatives. Due to the economic crisis in the country and higher unemployment, people were searching for ways to earn extra money, and many saw big opportunities in direct selling.

PROSPECTS

  • Over the forecast period value sales of vitamins and dietary supplements are set to increase. The main drivers of sales will be the trend towards healthy lifestyles and the demand for preventive medication. Whilst during 2015 the growth in value sales was greatly supported by rising unit prices, over the forecast period value sales are expected to increase due to rising volume sales. It is expected that demand for vitamins and dietary supplements will increase strongly when the country restores economic stability.
