Domino’s Pizza Enterprises Ltd remained the largest player by a wide margin in 100% home delivery/takeaway ahead of its main rival, domestic company New York Pizza BV (GBO). While little more than five years ago, both players were still neck and neck, the larger financial resources of its international parent company allowed Domino’s Pizza to increasingly leave its rivals behind, by adding more outlets each year.

More intense competition from pizza fast food

Pizza fast food remained the most important type of food in 100% home delivery/takeaway. With the entry of Papa John’s and a renewed push by Pizza Hut in 2017, Domino’s Pizza and New York Pizza encountered increasingly intense competition from pizza fast food.
