In 2013, five out of the top ten fastest growing economies in the world are expected to be in Sub-Saharan Africa. Driven by strong economic growth Sub-Saharan Africa was the second fastest growing region in the world, in terms of international tourist arrivals in the last five years. The recent discovery of oil and gas deposits in countries like Mozambique and Uganda will assist growth in business and leisure arrivals over the forecast period. The region is expected to reach 43 million visitors by 2017.
