The UN has an aim of making it possible for all children everywhere to attend primary education by 2015. While the timeline for this goal seems optimistic, many developing countries are making strides towards this. It will increase their labour force skills in the long term, improving competitiveness. India had both the highest number of primary schools globally in 2012 at 834,726 and the biggest growth in primary schools among emerging countries from 2007-2012, adding a further 46,915.
