The presentation: From Private Label to Fast-Fashion: How the Volume Footwear Market in Changing.

The global footwear market continues to perform well increasing by a CAGR of 6% from 2010 to 2015. While women’s footwear remains the cornerstone of the industry, impressive performances within the men’s and children’s categories have driven growth; as male consumers take a greater interest in their appearance and fashions infiltration into childrenswear leads to wider availability of products and more frequent purchases.

The US boasts the largest market globally, a title it is expected to retain throughout the next five years to 2020, closely followed by China. Western Europe is anticipated to contract slightly as unit prices are eroded by consumers continued their love affair with budget prices and fast fashion, while Middle East and Africa region will experience dynamic growth due to strong performances in South Africa and United Arab Emirates.

Future growth of the industry lies in sports footwear; as health and fitness become integral parts of consumers’ lives, an upsurge in sports participation boosts performance-led products and fashion trends elevate demand for sports-inspired footwear.
