Euromonitor International’s CSR Director, Sarah Hunter, was delighted to take part in Just a Drop’s panel event at the World Travel Market this week on Responsible Tourism Day. The event looked at the topic; Beyond Charity: How businesses can embrace the UN Sustainable Development Goals and increase their impact working with the non-profit sector, and also included some of Just a Drop’s other corporate partners (Radisson Blu and The Travel Corporation’s TreadRight Foundation) as well as their founder Fiona Jeffery. This was one of the many events that Euromonitor was involved in during this year’s World Travel Market.

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a key part of Euromonitor’s Corporate Responsibility strategy, and we continue to partner with organisations who help to make these goals a reality. This panel was a great opportunity to discuss some of ways in which our partnership with Just a Drop helps support the SDGs and also to encourage other businesses to think about these issues when choosing charity partners to support. How companies are aligning themselves with the SDGs was the subject of another recent Euromonitor report.

Euromonitor has been working in partnership with Just a Drop for a number of years, and was pleased to include them in our Headline Partners programme this year, continuing to support their work in India, Nicaragua and Uganda. In Nicaragua, the project will construct a new well and water distribution system that will bring clean and safe water to the homes of 349 people in the village of Hato Viejo. In India, we are supporting a project that will bring clean water and sanitation facilities (including new latrines and a private bathing area) to the village of Paravour, supporting 3,624 people. You can read about our previous work with Just a Drop in India here.

Our partnership with Just a Drop enables us to work towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, part of our commitment as signatories to the United Nations Global Compact.
