In 2030, the population of Germany will reach 78.8 million, a decrease of 3.7% from 2012. The population is ageing and this will be compounded by a falling birth rate and a low fertility rate which mean that all age groups under 60 will be smaller in 2030. Urban population continues to increase and Frankfurt will be the fastest growing city between 2012 and 2030. Read more in our Germany in 2030: The Future Demographic report.
