The forecast period will see slower growth than in the review period, albeit still positive, in line with the overall performance of inbound tourism (ie positive but slower than the review period boom).
The two leading players, Avis and Hertz, further enhanced their positions in 2019. Having invested heavily during 2018 in expanding and renewing their fleets, the focus during 2019 was on increasing utilisation rates.
Big players like Avis are considering the introduction of car-sharing operations in Greece. Avis is making plans with its parent company to introduce this new technology.
