Independent assessment of educational landscape

In preparation for an IPO listing, an educational institution client asked Euromonitor International to provide an independent assessment of the size and competition of the education landscape in Saudi Arabia.


The school accommodates over 13,000 students of all ages and levels. The school has a few international partnerships as well as a series of international certificates. As it grows, the institution plans to expand in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through acquisitions.

What we did


We began with desk research to collect publicly available secondary sources of data including statistics on the number of schools and students in Saudi Arabia. We complemented this with over 30 trade surveys gathering the opinions and perspectives of a sample of leading industry players in Saudi Arabia.

The analysis included private national and international schools and key governmental entities. Before completion of the project, we cross-checked and analysed all sources to build an industry consensus on the market size and historic trends.



Our report included information on the number of private schools, private education demand drivers, market sizes by syllabus type, a competitive landscape assessment ranking of institutions and schools located in specific areas of interest. The analysis was complemented by a separate strategic overview focusing on a different geographic area in which the client aimed to focus on in the future. 


The results

The primary component of the report was directly used in the Prospectus Materials and Listing Application Form helping the client prepare materials for their IPO listing. A second component of the study supported the client’s strategic plans to focus on after the IPO process was completed.
