The Versuchs- und Lehranstalt fuer Brauerei in Berlin (Research and Teaching Institute for Brewing in Berlin) was founded in 1883 by the German brewing and malting industry and provides research, training, education and service for the brewing industry.

The 11th VLB Iberoamerican Symposium is one of the Institute's flagship events, focusing specifically on the Latin American and Spanish markets, with sessions delivered in Spanish and English.
