Amongst the major customer concerns when opting to buy food and drinks via the internet are the delivery time and the quality of the ordered goods at the time of delivery. The results of a recent study show that in 2018 Mercadona accounted for the highest share of online food orders. The grocery chain is also the leader in terms of sales in physical stores, and is working on expanding its internet channel.

After their successful alliance for online food delivery in Madrid and Barcelona, Amazon and Dia have expanded their agreement to cover Valencia. In addition to the products offered by Plaza de Dia, one of Dia’s retail chains, vendors from the municipal farmers’ market in Valencia are able to use the services of Amazon to offer their products to consumers.
