Continued depopulation in Lithuania up to 2030 will be driven mainly by progressively negative natural change, but negative net migration will also contribute. As ageing accelerates Lithuania will continue to be one of the oldest regional countries, with population growth occurring almost exclusively in older age groups. Urban population will increase as a share of overall population, while the population of Vilnius will decline at the slowest pace out of the major cities up to 2030.
