The Ministry of Tourism is renewing licenses for its accommodation facilities in Makkah and Madinah free of charge for a period of one year, which may be extended. Furthermore, businesses offering accommodation facilities in Makkah and Madina will be exempt from annual municipal fees for a year.
As the summer holidays approach and Saudi Arabia lifts restrictions on inbound flights from many previously banned countries, hotels will begin to increase their staff numbers again, concentrate on sales and marketing strategies and will find ways to differentiate their offerings and packages. All functioning hotels are conscientiously applying the hygienic and sanitation procedures as well as measures dispensed by the ministries, along with flexible cancellation and payment guidelines and important Ramadan/summer deals to appeal to clients willing to book with them.
Saudi Arabia has the world’s largest hotel pipeline, anticipating a 67% increase in room supply over the first three years of the forecast period, the highest among the 50 most populated countries. Over 70,000 rooms are in the Saudi hotel pipeline, with almost 17,000 scheduled to come online in 2021.
