According to industry organisation, Organic Denmark, Danes are the most prolific consumers of organic products in the world. This can also be seen in the demand for organic beverages, which remained strong in 2018.

Room for growth remains in organic beverages

While sales of organic beverages saw strong growth throughout the review period, there is still some way to go before organic beverages become the norm for Danish consumers. For other products such as oatmeal, for example, the greater proportion of value sales are of organic versions, according to Organic Denmark, while organic carrots, eggs and milk account for a significant share of total value sales.

Solid growth expected in the forecast period

Both organic hot drinks and organic soft drinks are expected to record further strong performances over the forecast period as Danish consumers continue to seek more natural and organic products. The strong dynamics of most beverage types within organic beverages are set to continue to support growth.
