In 2021, Uniqlo reopened its global flagship outlet in Taipei, only six months after its initial launch. As part of this reopening, the retailer introduced new experiences, including a florist, children’s library, and other interesting areas.
With Taiwan reopening its border towards the end of 2022, many apparel and footwear retailers, including sports brands, started to open new outlets in prime locations such as Taipei 101 and within department stores, in preparation for the likely rise in footfall over the early part of the forecast period. For instance, global brand Crocs opened an experiential pop-up store and launched limited-edition footwear.
Uniqlo is the most successful apparel brands from overseas, and highlights its successful strategy of focusing on localised branding and sustainability initiatives in response to consumers’ changing demands and concerns.
