Cassava consumption is expected to continue to rise strongly in the coming years, as several initiatives have been undertaken by the government to mass produce this crop – looking to it as a means to eradicate hunger.
Sufficient volumes of potatoes, sweet potatoes and other starchy roots were produced during 2018, which kept volume growth negligible. Potatoes are an essential part of daily meals and form part of every cuisine across different regions in India.
