Eco-friendly packaging plays part in growing emphasis on natural and organic positioning

The United Arab Emirates beauty and personal care market is experiencing a notable shift from a quick fix approach to personal grooming that involves covering up imperfections to a more holistic, longer-term attitude focused on maintaining health and preventing problems occurring. This change in attitude is being underpinned by the health and wellness trend, and is leading to a growing interest in natural and organic products, which is also linked to an increasing concern for environmental issues.

Polarisation continues, along with growing focus on convenience

The more challenging macroeconomic conditions experienced in the United Arab Emirates at the end of the review period contributed to a polarisation of demand in terms of the size of packaging. Rigid plastic saw significant growth in 48g and 51g containers, and 800ml bottles in 2018, for example.
