The Swiss company Büsser Formenbau launched a closure innovation in PET bottles under the name EasyCap in 2021. EasyCap is a closure system for PET bottles that attaches the bottle’s body to its plastic screw closure cap, thereby keeping the cap tethered to the bottle at the time of disposal.
In late 2020, the Environment Committee of the Swiss National Council (ESPEC) passed a motion focusing on recycling initiatives. The initiative proposes to levy a tax on disposable plastic products with less than 25% recycled material by 2025.
