Demand for in-car entertainment is set to experience further declines in 2021 as a continuation of a trend already emerging in Ukraine over the review period. While there has been a lack of movement outside of the home as a result of the pandemic, restricting commuting and general travel in terms of car usage during the strictest of measures, sales of new cars are also set to notably increase over the year as improving access to credit and pent-up demand in terms of spending are set to reduce further demand for aftersales of in-car entertainment as many new cars now offer pre-installed in-dash media players and in-car speakers.
In-car navigation is predicted to continue to record the weakest performance in 2021, as demand is further eroded by the increasing popularity of smartphones and various apps which can be downloaded for free that offer acceptable navigation capabilities. However, businesses still offer a target audience as some continue to purchase in-car navigation for longer distances which they find to be more convenient compared to smartphones for autonomous navigation which does not require internet connection.

In-car entertainment is predicted to continue to decline over the forecast period, with in-car navigation set to see the weakest performance overall. This will be mainly linked to the fact that the average consumer is content to rely on free downloadable apps via their smartphones which can be used for adequate navigation, with younger Ukrainians in particular more likely to rely on their smartphones for their wide range of functions and convenience.
The average unit price of in-car navigation is also predicted to continue to increase over the forecast period, limiting the decline in value terms (at constant 2021 prices) compared to volume declines. The category still has potential to target a more niche audience in businesses once employees are able to travel more regularly within the country.
In-car speakers is predicted to demonstrate the second-fastest retail volume decline rate over the forecast period. Pre-installed equipment in newer cars is likely to be adequate for many consumers, particularly for those taking shorter journeys.
