The concept of smart vending is expected to continue rising in Taiwan, featuring internet connectivity which allows retailers to boost products sales and reduce maintenance fees. The pandemic accelerated the adoption of contactless retail as consumers avoided crowded places, and thus led to growing opportunities in unmanned retail channels with the support of smart vending machines.
In response to evolving consumer lifestyles, strategic placement of smart vending machines has become paramount in Taiwan's retail landscape. These machines are strategically positioned near office buildings, educational institutions, and busy thoroughfares, catering to the needs of office workers, students, and individuals seeking convenient dining options.
In the era of labour shortages, Taiwan's vending industry is witnessing a transformative shift towards energy-efficient and labour-saving vending solutions. A ground-breaking development is the introduction of Taiwan's first energy-saving smart vending machine, a collaborative effort involving industry pioneers such as Liao Zhenyu and Liao Liangbin of Guangdian Technology, along with Silicon Valley venture capital expert Chen Wufu.
