Over the forecast period, vending is expected to perform positively, registering further value sales growth (at constant 2022 prices) in line with greater mobility and the stronger return of inbound arrivals. Additional sectors are expected to increase their presence within vending as well as new forms of corporate welfare such as refrigerated lockers for shopping and machines offering ready meals.
Vending technology can be applied to the sale of various products and services over the forecast period. For example, some manufacturers have developed and launched innovative vending machines on the local market such as, the "automatic wine shop" from Magex: a vending machine that can dispense glass bottles of different sizes, including the magnum format.
Vending players have continued to develop apps which enable consumers to choose how to pay for products from machines in a completely "contactless" way, via smartphones. In addition, the traditional "coffee key" has evolved: Coges, in fact, has launched to the local market a key that connects to credit, and sends feedback on products, on the machine or on the service, while QSave Elkey proposes a system that generates a QR Code readable by the smartphone through which to authorise the payment.
