Easing of visa requirements boosts growth in inbound arrivals

December 2018 saw South Africa and Kenya launch a 10-year multi-entry business visa agreement which applies to the citizens of both countries. The formalisation of this agreement forms part of Kenya’s ongoing visa facilitation strategy, which has been underway for some time already.

Expansion of Kenya Airways’ route network to support arrivals growth

June 2019 saw Kenya Airways expand its route network into Europe with the addition of flights to Rome four times per week. This complements the airlines’ existing twice weekly flights to Geneva.

Effective promotion of Kenya abroad and at home to boost tourism flows

2019 saw the rebranding of Kenya’s travel and tourism offer for the eighth edition of Magical Kenya, the largest travel and tourism exhibition ever held in the country. The aim of this rebranding is to add value to Kenya’s tourism offer by showcasing a more diverse range of attractions covering sport, culture and ecotourism.
