Both the number of trips in Turkey and their retail constant value sales will continue to recover throughout the forecast period, but they will remain below their pre-pandemic level even at the end of it. Much will depend on the duration of the war in Ukraine and when and whether conditions in the key Russian and Ukrainian markets begin to normalise.
The overwhelming majority of tourists who come to Turkey do so for all-inclusive and affordable beach holidays, but the local tourist industry will continue to broaden its offer during the forecast period. In particular, there is significant potential for growth in city trips (currently largely limited to Istanbul), eco-tourism, medical tourism, culinary tourism and visits to archeologically sites.
