Egypt's Minister of Tourism has set an ambitious goal of increasing tourist arrivals to 25-30 million by 2028. Currently, Egypt can accommodate up to 15 million tourists annually with its 1,200 tourist hotels, 1,300 tourist restaurants, 12,000 tourist guides, 2,200 tourist companies, 130 archaeological sites, and 31 museums.
In March 2023, Egypt introduced new legislation and amendments to existing regulations to facilitate tourism growth. Notably, a new multiple-entry visa valid for five years is now available for citizens of 180 countries, accessible for a fee of USD700 (EGP21,000).
