Nappy (diaper) rash treatments and antiparasitics/lice (head and body) treatments are other categories within dermatologicals which saw strong growth in 2019. Growth within nappy (diaper) rash treatments was fuelled by rising investment by Slovak parents in products for their babies, made possible by the improving economy.
GSK Consumer Healthcare remains the leading player within dermatologicals, offering only two brands, Lamisil and Fenistil Gel. The latter remains highly popular among consumers due to its high level of effectiveness against insect bites and other types of itching.
The competitive landscape within dermatologicals was highly fragmented at the end of the review period. GSK Consumer Healthcare was closely followed by Bayer, which offers the Canesten and Bepanthen brands.
A significant recent product development was Parusan Energizer by Naturprodukt, which was launched in hair loss treatments. The product is specifically designed for women and offers a composition of biotin, arginine, vitamin E and extract of pea germ, helping to accelerate hair growth and fight against hair loss.
