The leading brands – I Schmidt GmbHm’s Mikado and Bonduelle Groupe SA’s eponymous brand – have a strong recognition, a good reputation for quality, are widely distributed and are backed by marketing investment, particularly in-store promotion.
Growing female labour force participation is fuelling demand for convenience, as women – who are generally still responsible for cooking – have less time to devote to food preparation. This is driving steady growth for processed fruit and vegetables.
