The local brewer Pivovarna Union remains the leading player in RTD tea in 2021, thanks to its flagship offering Sola Ice Tea. The player benefits from the first-mover advantage and a strong distribution network, which covers both the off-trade and on-trade.
RTD tea is not a popular soft drink in Slovenia, with limited consumer awareness. In addition, it is facing competition from healthier soft drinks, with lower sugar content and more natural ingredients, such as flavoured bottled water and juice.
Over the forecast period, RTD tea will register a decline in constant value sales and volume growth will be flat. The high unit price will continue to dampen volume sales, as consumers are cautious about spending, as the economy recovers from the fallout of the pandemic.
