Cream is set to be the best performing product in other dairy in 2021, largely as a result of a return to normality of production. At the height of the pandemic, leading brand operators cut back on production partly as a result of logistical challenges and supply problems, but mostly in order to focus on products with higher turnover and higher profit margins.
Other dairy in Bolivia remains comparatively immature. There are no visible sales of fromage frais and quark or chilled snacks in Bolivia, and per capita consumption of products like chilled and shelf stable desserts is extremely low.

Despite Bolivia’s COVID-19-driven recession, there is still a growing urban middle class that will drive sales of other dairy products over the forecast period. Urbanisation continues at pace, and will fuel the expansion of this cohort.
Consumer health awareness is on the rise in Bolivia, helped by government public health and nutrition campaigns, and accelerated by the pandemic. Other dairy is set to see to solid growth in value terms over the forecast period, although the rapidly improving domestic production and cold chain distribution, as well as government initiatives to support industry and improve national nutrition will continue to see price development slow, and in many cases fall, over the forecast period. This will, however, support volume growth.
