Although this site manufactures chewing gum and sugar confectionery, and chocolate confectionery is still imported from South Africa and Egypt, the new plant allows the company to coordinate imports, distribution, and marketing of its chocolate confectionery.
The Kenyan government recognises the growing incidence of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) as a concern. In 2021, the government implemented the National Strategic Plan for Prevention and Control of NCDs 2020/21-2025/26.
