Ongoing and growing concerns about the safety of tap water can be expected to continue to drive sales of bottled water in the forecast period, especially in urban areas. There is predicted to be a rapid recovery in sales of products in PET bottles, with this pack type benefiting from a return to stronger impulse sales, as educational institutions, shopping malls, recreational areas and workplaces, etc, resume pre-pandemic operations fully.
Amid the health trend, urbanisation, more women in the workforce and retail modernisation are expected to boost bottled water sales in the forecast period. Not only is a growing number of consumers seeing mineral water as inherently healthy, but water in general is increasingly highlighted as a healthier alternative to sugary drinks like carbonates.
Bulk bottled water is becoming readily available and increasingly preferred by many among the urban population. The bulk purchase of bottled water provides convenience and is perceived to be a healthy and hygienic alternative to tap water.
