A partnership with YouTuber CrownDu, also known as Dimei has so far resulted in a variety of new flavours, including tea latte and green tea, which are also popular handshake drinks in Dimei’s handshake drinks store.
Modern grocery retailers will remain the favourite distribution channels for ice cream in Taiwan, with most consumers frequenting convenience stores, supermarkets or hypermarkets. This is mainly because the delivery of frozen goods tends to be relatively expensive compared to in-store shopping, while in many cases, ice cream needs independent frozen delivery, rather than placed with other fresh groceries.
To cater to consumers’ growing sense of ice cream as a means to deliver self-indulgent luxury, players are innovating by creating ice cream products that resemble desserts. One way of doing this is to launch ice cream in famous dessert flavours, such as Xiao Mei and TimHoWan’s mango pomelo sago variant.

Ice cream is the aggregation of frozen yoghurt, impulse ice cream, unpackaged ice cream and take-home ice cream. Frozen desserts is included in the project Staples. Includes: Non-dairy ice creams (for example, soy or rice-based products, as well as any other dairy-alternative ice creams), should be tracked alongside dairy ice cream in the relevant product subcategory. Rice and soy can be used as dairy substitutes in the manufacture of ice cream, but the product is still equivalent in terms of positioning/marketing and consumer target to standard dairy ice cream.
