Microsoft's Surface Tablet Not Competing with iPads

Despite what many consumers may think, the Surface tablet, recently announced by Microsoft, will not be in direct competition with Apple's iPad. Mykola Golovko, consumer electronics industry analyst at Euromonitor, states that the iPad is more of a media consumption device, while the Surface tablet will be geared more towards productivity and gaming - offering more of a laptop experience. The launch of the Surface tablet will also showcase Windows 8, Microsoft's new operating system.
