As the world's leading trade fair for food and beverages, Anuga is bringing the largest international industry community together and generating a positive spirit of optimism.

Session title: Plant-Based at a Tipping Point: The Future of Food in Europe

Session description: Plant-based is at a tipping point in Europe. A slowdown in sales of the biggest brands has made headlines, often suggesting an end to the plant-based boom in the context of the cost of living crisis. Nonetheless, higher prices of meat and enduring interest in healthy nutrition continue to push consumers to alternatives. In this presentation, Euromonitor will highlight recent developments in plant-based and explain whether milk alternatives and meat substitutes can defend and expand the shelf space they have gained over the past few years.

Date and time of the EMI session: 07 to 11 October 2023, 11:45-12:25 CEST
