LED lamps, within light sources, was one of the few categories within home furnishings to witness higher value sales at constant 2022 prices in 2022 compared with the pre-pandemic level. What is more, it is set to continue to see dynamic growth in both current and constant value terms in the forecast period, in the face of rising energy prices and an increased focus on sustainability amongst consumers.
Brazil’s mattresses category is highly fragmented, with two players – Ortobom and Plumatex – together accounting for just over a fifth of value sales, with all the remaining players accounting for less than 5% each. However, in 2022, all of the top nine players in mattresses lost share to the smallest competitors, included under “others”.
As Brazilian consumers increasingly lead individualised, urban-centric lives, their amount of living space is shrinking. Homes and apartments in Brazil’s dense urban spaces are shrinking, which will drive demand for furniture that can make efficient use of space.
