It is highly common to find standalone foodservice establishments throughout Vietnam. Standalone is the only obvious location in many rural areas, where retail space is limited.

Consumer foodservice through retail records fastest current value growth

As Vietnam observes a rapidly growing number of urban mid-income consumers, many investors are building new shopping centres to capture the increasing spending opportunity. According to the Government Statistics Office, the number of shopping centres grew from 130 in 2013 to 188 in 2017.

Lodging has the highest concentration of high-end foodservice establishments

In 2018, Vietnam continued recording robust growth in the number of inbound tourists. With the growing number of business travellers, and inbound tourists from developed countries, there has been increasing interest from leading international luxury hotel chains.
