  • There is limited competition between domestic and international brands. Domestic brands perform poorly as they are mostly loose products, while better-packaged international brands dominate. Direct sellers lead in these respects with the competition concentrated between the most popular three, Tianshi products, Forever Living products and GNLD products.

  • The trend towards herbal/traditional products is expected to continue over the forecast period, as consumers are increasingly concerned about the side-effects of standard drugs, and have better incomes which enable them to choose such higher-priced brands.
