Well-known, popular coffee brands, such as Starbucks, are expected to gain further retail value share in Slovakia over the forecast period, although this will largely depend on strengthening consumer purchasing power, which is unlikely to be significant until the second half of the forecast period. Smartphone apps are also expected to become increasingly utilised the marketing strategies in the coming years.
Although post-pandemic consumer mobility is likely to continue across the forecast period, foodservice recovery is nevertheless expected to be gradual as Slovakians limit spending in the face of high inflation and an increase in the cost of living. This is expected to impact opportunities for growth in volume sales of RTD coffee.
A growing interest in different varieties of coffee and experiments with new flavours, combined with the country’s growing on-the-go coffee culture should help to drive sales over the forecast period. However, significant obstacles to growth will be limited distribution and the high price of RTD coffee products, particularly as household purchasing power is expected to remain constrained in the short to medium term.
