Even after seeing solid growth in 2021 and 2022, even stronger retail volume growth rates are projected for built-in dishwashers throughout the five-year forecast period, hardly offset by the decline expected for freestanding dishwashers. According to Euromonitor International’s Voice of the Consumer: Lifestyles Survey, work from home policies stuck in 2022, as although the number of Canadian survey respondents reporting working from home daily decreased slightly in 2022 compared with 2021 (18% in 2021, 14% in 2022), the number who reported working from home at least weekly increased slightly (22% in 2021, 24% in 2022).
As consumers head into a future of economic uncertainty, and high inflation continues to erode consumers’ spending power, they may seek to cut discretionary spending on food delivery and eating out at restaurants. If consumers opt to prepare more meals at home in order to save money, and also to prioritise healthy eating, kitchen appliances, including dishwashers, are likely to continue to experience high usage, as consumers will generate more dirty dishes, utensils and food storage products.

A dishwasher is a device for cleaning crockery and cutlery. Freestanding models are commonly available in full-size, slimline and compact variants. Built-in machines can be fully integrated (completely hidden by a door front and have their controls at the top of the dishwasher door on the inside), semi-integrated which are covered by a matching kitchen door up to the height drawer, which are usually built in at chest height to make loading easier.See All of Our Definitions
