In Chile, the adoption of retail e-commerce is expected to gain further momentum, unlike in some markets in the region where post-pandemic sales are waning following an initial sales boom. Chilean consumers continue to prefer this channel because of the convenience of shopping from home, the ease of comparing products, and the perception that it offers more attractive discounts.
Local consumers are becoming increasingly influenced in their purchasing decisions by sustainable brands across all industries. In response, players are having to make significant effort and investment to not only communicate their circular economy attempts through advertising campaigns, but also to modify their use of materials and production processes since the "eco-conscious" consumer is more informed and is increasingly demanding with respect to these initiatives.
Many popular footwear brands now offer models featuring advanced technology, with popular names such as Nike, Under Armor and Xiaomi committed to making a difference to consumers’ lives during physical activity. These models feature sensors or chips embedded in the sole, which are capable of measuring training through different parameters and then connecting to the user’s smartphone and special app for analysis.
