International Apple and Sony lead portable players but offer little new

International brands Apple and Sony remain active in portable players but neither have introduced new product developments with significant changes in features or design. While JBL has increased its presence in most electronics and appliance specialist retailers, distribution has decreased for Apple and Sony with fewer retailers carrying portable players in their portfolios and having fewer familiar brands.

E-readers remain on a downward trajectory, with Kindle seeing limited distribution

Kindle is the leading brand of e-reader although its distribution in Colombia is limited to small-sized importers. Kindle is usually imported directly by interested consumers purchased from Amazon who assume the delivery costs.
