Nestlé Bolivia continually supports Nescafé with marketing and promotional activities, with the brand also benefiting from an extensive distribution network, which means it is accessible to most consumers.
In response to the outbreak of COVID-19, the government ordered all foodservice establishments to close between March and June. During this time, a few outlets offered a takeaway service, however this had little impact on coffee as consumers are unlikely to order a coffee for home-delivery.
At the beginning of the forecast period, volume growth is anticipated to be weak, with a few product areas seeing declining volume rates. The weakening economy, uncertainty of the future and ongoing political tension will all lead consumers to continue favouring lower priced and economy brands.
From 2021 onwards, the foodservice industry is expected to start recovering, however it will take at least three years.
