Rum brands will focus on renewing their image and this will help the category to become more relevant in the forecast period. The entrance of premium brands, such as Diplomatico Rum and Flor de Caña, will give this spirit more aspirational appeal at a time when rum has been losing out to whiskey.
Although the spirits category saw significant growth in 2022 due to the reopening of bars, on-trade sales remained below pre-pandemic levels. In this regard, 2023 will be the first year where there will no longer be pandemic restrictions to contend with.
