The increasing use of air care products resulted from the rising number of sustainable products available in the market and innovation in terms of new fragrances. After introducing the eco-friendly brand Air Wick Botanica in late 2020, Reckitt Benckiser introduced a new fragrance in the product range, Caribbean vetiver & sandalwood. The non-aerosol Botanica fragrances are made from natural, carefully sources essential oils and appeal to consumers as eco-friendly air care products are increasingly popular in Hungary.
Procter & Gamble, through its Ambi-Pur brand, continues to lead air care in Hungary in 2021. Despite losing some sales share, partly due to the fact that Ambi-Pur candle air fresheners were withdrawn in 2018, the company has managed to maintain its lead and is expected to remain at the summit over the forecast period.
Air care is expected to record healthy growth over the forecast period, benefiting from increasing demand for more sophisticated and sustainable products. New unique fragrances should also attract consumers going forward.
