Still wine is expected to post further positive further, thanks to the per capita potential and the rising popularity of wine with younger consumers of legal drinking age, who wish to explore sophisticated wines for the experience as opposed to simply get drunk per se. Indeed, the culture of consumption is changing in the country and, responding to these trends, distributors are expanding the portfolios and new players are coming.
Vermouth is expected to see growth over the forecast period, but at a slower pace in comparison to still and sparkling wine. It is a single player category, with the leader Martini.
Kazakhstan is not seeing any strong developments in non/low alcohol wine, nor are such prospects expected to appear strongly over the forecast period – unlike the non/low alcohol trends seen in beer. The climate in the country is such that, in winter, consumers prefer to enjoy drinks which will help to warm them up – thus preferring alcoholic wine.
