Eva Cosmetics Laboratories gained the leading position in skin care in 2021 although this was largely due to Oriflame Egypt Co losing value share. Oriflame still remains the leading brand in the overall skin care category but its company position has dropped below Eva Cosmetics in 2021.
Skin care is expected to witness strong increases over the forecast period in line with rising demand. Egypt’s growing population will be a factor driving skin care usage as will an increase in awareness about different products and how they can enhance the skin.
The rising cost of living driven by inflationary pressures will make consumers even more price conscious in the forecast period. Prices of skin care increased in the second half of 2021, rising by some 15% due to the increase of fuel and electricity.
